During the annual Miami Swim Week show this year, the fashion ramp of Sports Illustrated scorched with excitement as it celebrated the courage of a breastfeeding mother and the beauty of nature. Mara Martin, mother to her five-month-old daughter, Aria and dressed in a gold bikini walked tall as she breastfed little Aria.
Martin’s act was praised on social media and her decision to breastfeed her daughter was perceived as “inspiring.” There were others who admired her work and also warned of a lot of “pushback” for the same – simply because she sent out a very powerful message.

What is World Breastfeeding Week all about?
Come 1st to 7th August 2018 and the world is celebrating the World Breastfeeding Week 2018. The concern regarding breastfeeding is shared by numerous nations, associations and members globally. World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action, in association with WHO and UNICEF are among some organizations that organize and promote breastfeeding globally to achieve the objective of best quality breastfeeding by mothers for their infants.
The aim of this week is to raise awareness on breastfeeding among mothers for their infants for the initial half year since birth. Besides, it provides excellent medical advantages and supplements to aid and energize the mother and equip her with the right breastfeeding knowledge for the sound development of her baby.
